Well it has been a few weeks since I have reported....... good grief what
a month! I have been really slammed. But that's a great thing. The fishing
has had it's ups and downs this month. The dog sharks have really been
chewing inshore the first part of the month as was the Spanish Mackerel.
But as the water temp rises along the beach the bite has fallen off. We
are still picking a few here and there but not like the first of the
month. The other sport sharks like the black Tips and spinner sharks has
picked up though. We are getting quite a few 50 to 80 pounders on a
regular basis. The offshore bite is still real good getting a lot of mahi
mahi in the gulf stream as well as some nice Wahoo. The tuna never showed
up this year just a very few were caught off of Charleston. Don't know
what has happed except these fish follow a very specific migration pattern
and I feel like they are being netted by the commercial guys before they
reach our shores. The bill fish are out there with a few being released
every week. So the fishing is good and the friendships are better.........

Another awesome day in the gulf stream!! Made it home with 21 gaffer
dolphin and on nice
wahoo. The water temp is getting right and the fish are chewing real hard.
Not a lot of weed to speak of but there was a lot of flyers and other bait
fish. had to leave with the fish biting... ran out of room and
my mate refused to gaff another fish. He was wore out!!!!

Had a GREAT day in the stream today! Started out slow but we did end up
with a 50lb Wahoo, a 18-20lb Mahi Mahi, and an 18lb king. Went to the
Scarp area the grass was not to bad in the shallows. Moved in to around
100ft of water in early afternoon to bottom fish and caught a wide variety
including tons of rudder fish, nice black sea bass, trigger fish,
vermillion snapper or b-liners and some scamp grouper however they were
too small to keep so back they went! Got some great pics click to see!

Took a special group of children from the North Myrtle Beach school system
out on a half day trip today. These kids have worked hard all quarter and
won this trip for all their hard work. Had a GREAT day catching some very
nice black sea bass 10 to 11 inches in size, unfortunately with the new
size limit of 12 inches we had to release most of them. But the kids had a
ball and loved every minute of it. We also caught some nice Spanish
Mackerel, so the half day trips are looking way up!!!!

Had a great group of guys today from the Air Force. The man that booked
the charter was Frank Mason, a pilot and along with him was the plane
crew. We went out on a 3/4 day trip and caught some real nice Red Grouper,
some Silver Snapper AKA pinkies, some nice B-Liners or the proper name
Vermillion Snapper and some of the biggest black sea bass I have seen in a
while. The guys have already booked another trip but it may be postponed
for a few weeks as they have been deployed to Africa! Be careful guys!!!

Had a great day in the stream today. Went north around the 100/400 line,
Had a nice group on- board
today really knew how to fish, we were able to bag two nice wahoo and a
black fin tuna. The largest only weighed in at 38lbs but it was the
heaviest 38lbs I have felt. The water was warm we had a few more fish on
but they cut off before we could boat them.
